Control Panel programs do not work

I have a problem with my control panel, when i go to it and like click on windows update or uninstall a program or restore files from back up or any of these programs, they don't pop up. So im wondering what to do? And i don't know if this has something to do with the problem but i also have a problem where i can't right click on the desktop and click screen resolution or personalize. It just pops up with "Explorere.EXE: No such interface supported" I am running Windows 7 64 bit on a HP Pavillion and google has failed me. Please help.

Well that too, but everything in control panel. I can't open any of them. Which isn't a HUGE deal right now because i don't need them, but for later just in case i might want to uninstall a program or restore my computer or update windows or anything else.

Do you believe this to be a malwave/virus issue?
Have you been visiting starnage websites or downloading a lot of unknown files and then this error happening?
If not since when have you had problems?

Does right click work on safe mode?

It sounds like you may have some damaged or corrupt system files. I'd try using Malwarebytes to see if your machine picked up some nasties. Update the data base and run the full scan. The link shows the differences between free and pro but you can download the free version.

Malwarebytes : Malwarebytes Anti-Malware PRO removes malware including viruses, spyware, worms and trojans, plus it protects your computer

After you scan with Malwarebytes I'd suggest running a System File Checker scan from an elevated command prompt (Option Two.) If SFC finds any problems, run the scan 3 times rebooting in betwen each scan.

SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

Please post back with the results of both scans.

No, unfortunately i don't have a backup before the problem. And i don't think it's a virus because i reinstalled windows and i know i haven't been to any weird sites that might give me virus's. And thanks for the idea about the system file checker ill try that now.
