Annoying warnings about not being an administrator...

So over the past few days, I've been setting up my new system. When I installed windows 7, I was asked to provide a password. Should I have done that to prevent annoying warnings about not being logged in as admin when I install, or try to change anything in a specific folder?

In a perfect world, I would like to just be in Windows 7 with the power to do anything I'd like to do and not have to worry about dumb warnings

this is the only account created ? or is there another account on your pc that may have administration so i can help you give administration to your current profile . Also go to control panel then user accounts then to change account type and now does it say that your a standard user or a administrator? should look like this if your a administrator with a bubble filled next to it and if you a standard user then it will have a bubble filled next to standard user for your username.Once i fine out if your standard or administrator i can help you more from there

Sorry, I didn't see this. For some reason, I didn't get an email notification. I'll have to double check my forum settings.

I'm the only user on this computer, yeah. I'll check what you've responded with and let you know what happens Thanks!

Yeah, it says that I'm an administrator and there is a guest account that is turned off.

Do you ever have these issues of warnings that you don't have access to perform certain tasks or file manipulations? After I click "Continue" after the warning (or it could say something else depending on the error) it'll make the changes but you still get the dialogues. I'll have to be more specific on what pops up I guess. This isn't helping you very much...

When you installed windows 7 did you provide a password or did you leave it blank and skip it ? If you left it blank it should still let you unless you provided one. Anyways i believe it might be UAC causing the problem, do you also get messages for like every little thing like asking if you with a prompt if you would like to open this yes or no, do you receive messages like this also? If so then go to you start bar and then type uac in the search bar and click change user account settings. If your able to get in you should see a slider. Now slide the slider all the way down to were it says never notify me, yours i believe would be slided all the way up. Now if when you slide it down then click ok it should prompt you again after you prompt it telling it's ok, restart your computer. Your slider should like this after prompting it is ok before you restart

Coolness. Yeah, it was set at the second one down from the top. I put it all the way down. I'll see what this does. Thanks a lot! I'm only a week old to Windows 7 (from XP). I like 7, but it'll take a little getting used to

Turning off UAC is one of the first things I do when I build a system, set it to never notify and then restart the machine. If I don`t I`ll have little pretty Blue & Yellow shields on every icon of every program I install.

I know why it`s there but I just don`t like it.
And I really hated it in Vista.

Disable UAC, as Addram says. It is beyond annoying and pretty much useless. That alone will reduce the number of error messages considerably.

AMD: Warnings occure, always.
But the report says its 100% successful, and has no errors. SO is there a reason for warnings? I been curious about this for a long while. Just installed 11.12, but I have seen that since like, 10.9.
