PC wakes up immediately after going into sleep mode

This has been happening since the last several days. I've tried system restore going back to Dec 31st and it hasn't helped the issue.

I've looked through the Advanced Power Settings options and not found something that appeared to be an issue to me. It still auto wakes up with Allow wake timers set to Disable and When sharing media under Multimedia Settings set to Allow the computer to sleep.

I also ran powercfg -lastwake in cmdafter an automatic wake up and these were the results:

type device manager, find network adapter, go to properties, and in power management uncheck "Allow this device to wake the computer"

Go in control panel to Device Manager, find your network card, select properties, go to the power management tab at top, uncheck box 'Allow this device to wake computer'

You may wish to try this:
    - unplug all external, i.e. usb, firewire, attached devices
    - start disabling services - after careful reading - as these can sometimes cause what you are describing
    - disable all TSR's (terminate and stay resident programs) by ctrl-alt-delete, check what is running in the background and turn them off, one at a time. These include antivirus, net monitors, print spoolers etc.
    - check your power settings. I have seen systems where some strange settings have caused problems like this. Try setting them to the default.

    Good luck

    Hi guys,

Although this topic did solve my problem with PC waking up right after switching it into sleep mode it helped me to find out what was wrong.
As you can see on the Delicieuxz's screenshot the network card wakes the machine up from sleep. In my case it was antivirus process (run as service)
    ...
    Owner: [SERVICE] \Device\HarddiskVolume2\Program Files\Bitdefender\Bitdefender 2012\vsserv.exe (VSSERV)
    ...

So what helped me? I've opened "Power options", selected the plan I wanted to fix (Balanced power plan) and then clicked -> Change the plan settings -> Change advanced power plan settings and from the next dialog window "Power options" I've expanded the branch Sleep, then expanded Allow wake timers, choose Disable.

After that I've found MS article on that ;]
