Black Screen appears 2 secs after Logon Screen shown

I cannot get to my desktop as this black screen is preventing me to do so.

It doesn't even give me enough time to log in!
It happened once before but it magically started to work the other time.
This never happened when I was still using the stock 640GB HDD that the laptop came with. So maybe I'm thinking it's because of my SSD having problems?

Fortunately, I can still get to Safe Mode and it says I got a BSOD and here's some details that it showed:

BCCode: d1
BCP1: 0000000000000010
BCP2: 0000000000000002
BCP3: 0000000000000000
BCP4: FFFFF8800170F5D6

I went to Event Viewer and took a look on what made my computer mess up and it says that winlogon.exe and Explorer. initiated the restart of my computer and said there was no reason for it.

Thanks for that, link.

I've attached a zip of the output of that program but I couldn't run the perfmon /report because I was running in safe mode and couldn't enable the service.

Please check it out.

Also, I've uninstalled HotSpotShield as I thought that might cause a problem.

If you see NtfsExceptionFilter on the stack then the 2nd and 3rd
parameters are the exception record and context record. Do a .cxr
on the 3rd parameter and then kb to obtain a more informative stack

Typically, black screen errors are due to a display driver problem. Go through the following steps.
  1. Click Start Menu
  2. Right click My Computer/Computer
  3. Click Manage
  4. Click Device Manager from the list on the left
  5. Expand Display adapters
  6. Right click each display adapter in that list and click Uninstall (do not hit OK when the dialog pops up after clicking Uninstall)
  7. Put a tick to delete driver software for the device and click OK
  8. Restart Windows in normal mode

Post back after finishing the above steps.

I did the exact steps you mentioned but the problem remains to be there. This time, I saw the actual BSOD that shows up and it says DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL there.

Still the same logon sound doesnt even complete during boot.

I haven't done a firmware upgrade yet because I really don't want to wipe the drive at this moment. I'd rather get it working and still have all of my data.

I tried to do a System Restore, still doesn't do anything.

My HDD isn't connected at this moment, as I've placed it on an external USB casing. Currently using it as an external HDD.

And there was nothing really wrong when I ran the chkdsk on boot for my SSD. I only saw a few of those EA and reparse records and everything else is 0.

EDIT:
Just disabled all my startup programs and still BSOD and reboot at winlogon

What I see from post #4 is that you're having BSODs from multiple independent kernel components. This is often indicative of memory problems or a buggy driver (never, ever the one listed in the BSOD dumps) stepping on kernel memory.

First thing I'd do with this is download memtest86 on a working computer, burn a CD, boot the broken computer from the CD, and run a complete memory test. This will identify or rule out memory problems.

Since you have ATI graphics, the next step would be to upgrade your video drivers. I've had "a few" problems with older ATI video drivers causing widespread kernel memory corruption, leading to BSODs seemingly caused by other system drivers. Upgrading to the latest ATI drivers resolved the problem.

Next thing after that would be chkdsk /f followed by sfc /scannow.

Run the boot version of Memtest86+ paying close attention to Parts 2 and 3 of the tutorial. Also, in case Memtest86+ misses anything and comes up with no errors, run the extended version of the Windows Memory Diagnostics Tool for at least five passes. These you may want to run overnight since they take a long time to complete.

I also note that one of your blue screen errors was caused by CCC.exe; Try uninstalling that program by uninstalling the AMD Install Manager and all AMD software, etc through add/remove programs in control panel. CCC.exe can sometimes overclock graphics cards without the user's consent.

Okay, I put memtest86+ on a usb key (the installer did all the formatting and the installing for me) and then I tried to boot from the usb key but it throws me into a reboot loop before I can do anything.

I'm running the Windows Memory Diagnostics Tool at the moment and will report what happens in the morning. But if any of you find any other solution(s), please post. Would be appreciated.:)

EDIT:
Okay I ran the WMDT for two passes and it didn't find anything. I'll try running it for a few more?

You could try running on one Dimm - and then on the other(s) - one by one if there are more than two. If a Dimm is defunct, you would see that pretty soon.

That is a lot faster and more reliable than those memory tests that take forever.

In cases like these where the blue screens happen very often, that is true. whs suggests another reliable method. Just make sure to practice good electrostatic discharge techniques to prevent damaging the RAM modules.

Thanks for this idea! I'll try this tomorrow as my laptop is hot at the moment. So I'll make sure to ground myself before taking out a DIMM?
