    Movable toolbars like in XP/Vista

Hello, i've been running 7 since beta, and i'm verry pleased with it exept for a few things but the most important and disturbing problem of mine is that i can't move the new toolbars i create to the left/right/top of the desktop like i could in XP :

    or even Vista :

I searched all over the internet for a solution even on your forum, but i couldn't find any, so could you please tell me if there is a solution for this or not, but without any 3rd party apps.

    Thanks in advance !

The taskbar is completely re-worked (redesigned). You can only have one - top, bottom, left, right - but only one.

Thanks for the fast answer, but i just don't understand why they didn't implement movable toolbars in the redesigning.

I mean since win98 i'm using a toolbar on the right to store my games shortcuts, because i don't want to put them on my desktop or on the taskbar, and now i have them in a desktop folder, that's a "-" from me MS!!

The new taskbar behaves as toolbar...
    Antman explained that nicely

I dunno - do not judge too quickly. There is a great amount of flexibility in the new bar. I really like all of the pinning and history available in the jump lists.

I use the bar in a way I would have never used quick launch, for example. The enitre left side of my 1920x1080 res monitor is filled with my most frequently used apps - always in the same place, all windows directly available by right click and on and on.

Of course, I did not "like" it at first. Now, I have a hard time in my XP VM -trying to use a jumplist that isn't there!

And all of my drives are directly available thru the right click. Just drag your desired folder to the "My Computer" icon and drop it.

Have you tried the Quick Launch tool bar? Maybe not what you wanted but you can put games and such on it. Have a look at this tutorial. Good luck to you!

    Alternative to Windows toolbars

You may wish to try Stardock ObjectDock which is free and looks great. You can move this to any chosen location on your desktop and it's easy to use.

I don't know what the problem is, but you can reposition the task bar to wherever you want it.

    Left click and drag,

Are you sure you haven't got the taskbar locked.?

Don't bother with all that crappola thats been suggested.
