It is OK to include a link to say a web site, like when I was reviewing Clonezilla, as long as you are not a reseller or affiliate. *chuckle* Rather not post a direct link to a software download though, stay with the 'home page' so others can find out what their getting, you know security?

I'm quite familiar with the Universal Boot CD and that's not any "questionable items" but simply another freeware collection of tools you burn onto a live cd. The main page shows a new beta V5.0 version is available as well as the listing of everything included in it at Ultimate Boot CD - Overview

If you scroll down the page there you'll see the long list of direct links to manufacturers's own support sites.

Has anyone fixed this slow copy issue in win 7 64 bit!/ Seems like allot of people are asking for help and no forums have final working answers.

My windows 7 copies are slower than normal they start of fast but slowly drop to below 1 mb/s speeds.

    ANY HELP here? any answers?

    Hi,

There could be many reasons for this - what size are the files, what type are they? What size and speed is your hard drive? It would help if you gave us more information about your system:

System Info - See Your System Specs

Two things we need from the OP so we can help.
    1. System Specs.
    2. System Specs.
When you are moving files are you doing anything else on your computer?

Yes I have trouble with partition to partition copys as well, they either run like lightning (typical of all version of windows prior to win 7 sp1) or go into "slow mode", more often slow mode!.

Copys from same to same partition are still lightning unless I have stress on the system.

Copys from HD to usb 2.0, gigabit 2k router, and even the ramdisk (after the latest 13 updates from MS) are also experiencing this slowdown.

    I am running windows 7 sp1 64 bit on a 3 tb seagate barracuda - system is a core i7 920 2.56 ghz with 16 gigs ram!

This seemes to have begun since either installation of the seagate goflex home 2 tb drive and/or upgrade to win 7 sp1 release, all file copies lost transfer speeds and test in control environment running nothing excessive and nothing in FOREGROUND demonstrates a differential spanning from .72 seconds to nearly 3 minutes to copy a 4 gig files from and too the various taargets mentioned.

I am aware of "bufffering" and thrashing the hard disk with multiple r/w's and the obvious does not seem to be apparent.

I have the same problem. This is it. When I try to copy say 85 pictures from an external source via USB or from DVD into a folder on the destop it is so slow or hangs up. Can't seem to figure it out. When I transfer other large files once on my HDD it moves very fast.
