making taskbar display open folders or browser windows like XP?

In Xp for example, if i had 3 browser windows open i would see 3 bars on the task bar with a bit of text about what the page is, each one about a couple inches wide.(till there were too many to display, they they stack up) In 7 they are all small squares stacked on top of each other. Can i change this behavior to work like XP?

Most people moving from XP to Windows 7 want to make Windows 7 look and behave like XP. I know I did. In my opinion that's a mistake. Take the time to learn to use the enhancements Windows 7 offers and you'll come to like them.

The one you mentioned for instance is a perfect example. Give Always combine, hide labels setting a try. If I have 2 browser windows open for instance. I can point to them on the Taskbar and they popup as small windows with a good amount of detail of what's in each one. I find this much more usable than the XP method of individual bars on the Taskbar.

I just don't like it like that. For one thing i don't want to have to mouse over to see what they are. I do like some 7 things more than XP, but not all and thats certainly not one i like i assure you.

I guess that's the beauty of Windows, that's it's easily customizable to suit many different needs.
