    Building a gaming laptop

    Hello SF,
I hope someone can help me out here.
I'm looking to buy a laptop and my budget is 1700 USD / 10.000 DKK
I will primarely use it for gaming but as a work pc too :P
What parts should I order and is there perhaps some sick new CPUs or graphic cards on the market that could make it really fast.
Thanks in advance, I appreciate you guys always being so helpful :)

I was thinking building it myself, wouldn't ordering the parts by myself benefit me more?

Building a Laptop is pretty much out of the question. There are some really powerful units ready to go out there. The most important thing to remember is COOLING. Don't forget that you may well need a cxooling pad under the machine if you are doing things that are CPU intensive. Also-keep it as clean as possible.

I've bought my fair share of components for DIY's and laptops over time. And I found that the places I mentioned are the best of the bunch, they still charge a premium... but compared to dell, hp, etc. they are a bargain.

MSI usually has great bare-bone laptops.

Alienware is just overpriced laptops. Even the Asus ROG laptops have better specs for a smaller price.

As for building laptops, as far as I know they're not as widespread as building desktops are. I'll check if I can find a website for your region, unless you're happy about what others say.
