When I double click a folder it ONLY--- new problem :(

Tried lots of things, using regedit, going into the folders features

my "Folder Options" ARE set to "Open each folder in same window"

my windows 7 ultimate 64bit refuses to do this though...
    tried lots of things...

also internet explorer not opening just, turned IE off waiting to reboot, may be related idk.

THIS is a really big annoyance... just 2 days ago when I double clicked a folder in explorer.exe it would open in SAME window

it refuses to do this anymore... please help!

tried system restore, tried Cmd prompt thing... please anybody please help.

what may have happened is that I recently was uninstalling things... umm

made sure this was a software thing ... defaulted my laptop's touchpad

used other mouses and still same result.

System File Checker sounds a good first step... especially if you've been adding and removing programs and tinkering with registry keys...

SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

ok i system restored and the problems "fixed"

i still have a bunch of crap i need to uninstall, but do not want this to happen again.

ive set a restore point today when my folder problem is fixed, but
now all the things i uninstalled before are still visible but are like empty shells... they dont function...

i cant help but think that this is really bad for the pc and fillls it up with a lot of unfunctioning junk...

any programs for getting rid of useless crap like this?

    also best uninstaller?

    i have revo pro

i like the advanced system care uninstaller

Internet explorer also works after the restore as well.
with the sfc /scannow i received some alerts about corrupted files... but what specifically do i do after sfc /scannow lets me know?

do i post it on some site or something? the log? or is there something i should be looking for
