Hi
How can I get icons to stay in the taskbar? e.g. printer icon, when I use, click, show notifcations in taskbar they don`t always appear, strange?

you mean the notification area (once called the system tray) on the right-hand side of the taskbar?

click on the little up arrow >> customize... >> and select 'show icon and notifications' maybe?

or do you mean 'pinning' icons to the main taskbar?

in that case, right-click and 'pin this program to taskbar'.

Yes exactly as you showed, but had icon for printer yesterday,seems to have gone now! and not showing on show notifications either

try printing something, then once the printer icon shows up, then click the little arrow and customize...show icon and notification.

i just tried it and it worked for me - haven't tried testing to see if it survives a reboot though...

*edit* no it didn't survive a reboot

i guess the printer icon only shows up to notify you have something in the print queue...

Thanks for replies, have rebooted as suggested and icon is now back! but as you say could be affected when using printer, once again thanks
