    Windows explorer windows are blank, including task manager


    Hello everyone. I got hit by the latest windows security virus and was forced to do a recover install. Ever since rebooting from the re-install, the majority of my windows explorer boxes are blank.

    I've tried running regsvr32 jscript.dll and regsvr32 vbscript.dll to no avail.

    I cannot use msconfig because the dialog box is blank when it pops up.

    Any ideas other than a clean install?

    start off with a SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker after it finds violations it requires reboot, post back when you're done with it.

Looked in the task manager today and noticed 4 separate entries for explorer.exe / windows explorer. Is this normal? Or does it indicate a problem? Windows 7 32 bit system. Thank you for your time, Steve
