Windows 7: Keyboard Language Change Text Position / Height Issue

Hi and thankyou for taking the time to read this.

I beleive I have tried to tackle this issue on 3 occasions now without success but i will try to keep it simple. I will have a go at attaching some pictures too.

I have done a couple of Windows 7 Ultimate installations for friend living in Thailand and forgotten to set the keyboard to Thai US during installation. No problem, Change keyboards after you hit the desktop.

After the keyboard language change the text in the start menu search box and in control panel search box is smaller and positioned lower. The letter g looks more like a small o.

You can see how the letters are not in the correct position. Is there any solution other than a full reload.... It should look like this
