    Welcome to the forum!

Are you able to drag and drop files in safe mode?
Also can you open your folder with double click in safe mode?

Have you installed all the latest drivers, chipset etc., from your computer/motherboard manufacturers web site?

Yep all the latest Drivers are installed...My mobo is not fully supported by Win7 only Vista but there as never been a problem in the past! My mobo is an Abit ip35 Pro from late 2007 early 2008. Any drivers windows 7 finds come through via windows update and all install fine.

Im certain its not a hardware fault, like I say its always been fine in the Past, its only done this after a fresh install

and its still the same in safe mode Weird!!!!!!!

I see that its a fresh install and its a weird thing happening. but would suggest a SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker. it requires a restart if violations are found.

    not a bad idea.
let us know how it goes :). you could also try creating a new user account and see if the same problem happens in that one.

well...the system restore has seemed to have done the trick, seems to be working fine again now but saying that, there are now updates again on windows update that is asking to be installed...i wonder if it was a buggy update...i will just have to do them one by one!

thanks for your help, i will keep you informed
