    Many entries in "C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Crypto\RSA\MachineKeys"

I noticed that I have over 850 entries in the "C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Crypto\RSA\MachineKeys" folder.
Apparently 1 is created at each boot?
    Are these files all necessary?
    Can I delete them somehow?

    Thanks.

I have only 15 folders in Program Data Folder and its total size is 276 megs. Many of the entries can be deleted like the Win7codecs (28.3 megs) folder in my Program Data because I have long uninstalled the Program and a few others like it.

But in any case it is not very big.

The folder in question on my PC has one entry, timestamped several months ago.

Well, to check matters out I deleted the 33 meg Comodo Firewall Sub-Folder inside Program Data Folder. Some files in this sub-folder had to be deleted during booting with the help of Unlocker.

After rebooting Comodo recreated the Comodo Sub-Folder again but its size was only 87 kilobytes and with Comodo working as usual with all the items added by me in the Network Security Policy intact.

However the almost unanimous advise on the Net is not do delete files in the Program Data Folder. I think a lot more research is required. May be better help shall be forthcoming shortly on this subject on this Forum.
