    SDHC card not recognized

We just bought an 8GB SDHC Transcend micro SD card from amazon. I did not realize there were probs. I put it directly into my tower in the card slot and nothing pops up. If I put my regular old 2GB micro SD in the slot, it immediately pops up, but not the SDHC card. Is there a fix for this? Something I can download to make it recognized or did I waste my money and get a piece of junk? Please help. This was actually my son's money; he wanted this, and I did not realize there was an issue with these until I googled the prob and had tons of people's complaints pop up.

Your flash reader is not SDHC compliant. Many SDHC cards come packaged with a small USB adapter. The SDHC card is (likely) not junk.

If the seller/shipper was Amazon, you may be able to get a pre-paid shipping label for an RMA. In spite of many published policies to the contrary, it is possible. I have always been successful in that regard.

There might be. I had the very same problem with a multi-card reader in my Dell PC. A firmware update for the card reader enabled it to recognize SDHC.

I just purchased a Transend 2GB Micro SD with a USB adapter and it works fine in all of my XP machines. It will not work in Windows 7. The sound that you hear when the plug and play recognizes a new USB device just plays over and over and no device shows up under my computer.

I am sure there is a solution somewhere, we just have to find someone who knows it. Anybody out there solved this one yet?

I've got a perfectly good SDHC internal card reader which also works for dozens of other formats, and it was a fabulous performer under XP, but isn't even detected under Windows7... so be careful what you decide upon as not all readers work!

Am currently waiting for a Kama-Reader2 unit to arrive, with a view to seeing if W7 recognises that...

I currently have a borrowed external USB mult-card reader from a company called Digital Concepts that works fine in my Windows 7 rig. It is model # CR-75p.

If Transcend customer support can't get this little TS2GUSD-P3 reader working, I guess I could get one like this Digital Concepts model.
