    Help Please!!!!!


    I have recently downloaded and installed windows RTM from technet. Everything was going great till just now .. I have a message on my desktop saying "Windows 7 7600. This copy of windows in not genuine" How can that be. when I check Wnidows Activation this is what I get.

    Have you tried activating it with the key you got off technet?

    Did you actually download this FROM microsoft via Technet? Or did it come from some other site advertised as "the technet release".

    Second, did you attempt to use any kind of activator hack to make it work? If so, that's most likely your culprit.

    I got the copy directly from Technet and used a key supplied by them. I did however upgrade rather than clean install.

    this is the same thing you posted as here ^^^....i don't believe you got it from technet at all

    Tweek I definitely got the copy from technet, prior to that I was using RC versions but as of August 7 I downloaded the 64 Ultimate version from Technet and got a genuine key.

    Have you given Microsoft a call and asked them? Should be covered for sure under your Technet agreement.

    No I haven't but a good idea ... I tried using genuine validation but got the message this does not work with current version of windows.

    I wonder is it possible that if someone had tried to activate the Windows OS with illegal ways (BIOS MOD or any method else) ever, and would cause the Windows OS being not activated even with the the genuine key?

    (Sorry, English is not my native language, I am not sure whether you understand what my question is....)

    I am curious.
