So......Do I just leave everything alone, do a repair install or have to do a clean install?

Turn UAC on and see if the error message stops.

This is the 'side by side' error:
Event: 72 Source: SideBySide
Activation context generation failed for "c:\program files\microsoft security client\MSESysprep.dll".Error in manifest or policy file "c:\program files\microsoft security client\MSESysprep.dll" on line 10. The element imaging appears as a child of element urn:schemas-microsoft-com:asm.v1^assembly which is not supported by this version of Windows

OK. I turned the UAC on last night to the recommended setting and I still got the same error this morning.

Anything else to try?

I'm into 1/2 hour of full scan with MSE. Will let you know what it finds when finished.

OK MSE ran for over 6 hours and over 150,000 items were scanned. Nothing found.

Next step?

Tell me what you use otter.exe for, please.

Otter is a database for Old Time Radio programs. I currently have over 78,000 programs that I add to and check against Otter.

This morning I just remembered that 2 years ago (when the PC was new), I had ZoneAlarm installed. It was removed after 1 month. This morning I ran AppRemover.exc that was talked about in the link you suggested in an early post.

"If you had any other Anti-virus program on this computer, please use the appropriate 'clean up' tool listed for it:
List of anti-malware program cleanup/uninstall tools - Microsoft Answers"

It also came up clean.

Do you have Volume Shadow Copy turned on in 'services'?
If you're making backups, where are being stored (drive)?
Do you have System Restore turned on? and which drive is it indicating?

Volume Shadow Copy is set to manual.
I make weekly backups and nightly Reflect images of C Drive to a 150 gig drive.
System Restore is turned on - C Drive has 5 restore points.
