Laptop brightness (fn+right arrow/left arrow) sometimes doesn't work

whats up people!

this bug has been bothering me since I bought this laptop a few years ago. Whenever I want to adjust the backlight brightness settings (just press fn+right arrow/left arrow) of my laptop (Acer) sometimes nothing will happen. It just won't get darker or brighter, but if I wait like 30 minutes/1 hour and try again it's working like a charm. Also when I reboot Windows the problem is fixed aswell, but that's not meant to be this way right?

The problem is not caused by a program malfunctioning I think, as this laptop has been formatted several times and every now and then the problem occurs. Be it if I haven't touched my laptop for hours, be it when I'm playing games.

Is this a known bug? or is it only applicable to my laptop?

thanks in advance
