Congrats Rich and Andy! Excellent first choices.

Hopefully MS is starting to realize that SevenForums is where a big share of consumer tech support for Windows 7 is getting done. I know they are still struggling to make Answers more user-friendly. I participated in feedback last year and notice they have solicited MVP's for focus groups recently.

On a parallel track to this exciting new award we should have at least as many MVP's as Answers' legion, so I hope we'll all keep our eyes open for nominees and feel free to nominate them here: https://mvp.support.microsoft.com/gp/mvpbecoming.

We also need to have a presence at their MVP Global Summit where this year the Expert-Consumer seminars have been pared down to Answers and little else (I'm going anyway).

Hopefully MVP's will not be considered for this new award so that others will get the additional recognition that they deserve. Is it possible or welcome to nominate others for MCCA?

Well, I am absolutely astounded.

Just received an email from Microsoft informing me that I have been selected to receive a Microsoft Community Contributor Award.

I am really pleased, both for myself and Windows Seven Forums, to accept this award, but it goes without saying I couldn't have done it without the help and support of my fellow contributors and forum staff.

This news has made an old codger feel very happy and very humble.

Thank you all.

Well done you old codger.

Also - well done Derek and everyone else who gets one.

I am sure it feels good to have your efforts recognised.

Interesting MS have done this - it is a new type of award I take it ?

Might be they will be giving out fewer MVP'S.
