    Dialog box outline on screen

Hello yall, I have an HP Pavillion dv6t-3100 with Windows 7 Home Premium, Intel HD Graphics card.

I have this weird problem where I will occasionally get the outlines from dialog boxes on my screen. They won't go away, show up over everything, and will just keep adding on. The only thing that seems to fix it is just restarting my computer.

    Attached are screenshots.

Edit: The outlines do not show up on the Windows log on screen, and they do not show up with other user accounts.

Welcome to Seven Forums nobody123r. That is an odd problem, and not one I have seen before. It may be graphics related, or just explorer related. Until others reply with more ideas, I have a suggestion. It will be easier then restarting your PC if it corrects the issue. Next time it happens, restart explorer.exe

You can do it manually, but I have added restart explorer.exe to the right click context menu using Brinks tute:

Explorer - Add "Restart Explorer" to Desktop Context Menu

You can also open task manager, right click on explorer.exe and choose end process. Then open task manager again. Click on file in menu upper left. Choose new task, and type in explorer.exe

It's just much easier with the shortcut, and very handy on occasion. Let us know how it goes. This doesn't fix the cause, but may help us diagnose it, and save you some trouble.

It is still an odd problem, I will be interested to see if anyone has suggestions to fix it. It will help if you update your full specs.

Have you confirmed you have the latest graphic driver? If this is the correct model you have, select Operating System, and see if the graphics driver is up to date
