Windows 7: Move photo files to 2nd drive but still see in libraries?

My computer has 500GB hard drive but split onto two drives ie C and D.
I wish to move all my photo files from the C drive onto the D one to ease up on available space. I have tried copying them over but when I then go into Photoshop they are not in my libraries/pictures.
Can anyone tell me how or if this can be done?

Welcome to SF, shanta99,

I believe your library is the Microsoft Windows default library. Go to you library folder. See attached. Select New Library. When created, you can select the location for the new library.

Thanks for that. I did see that but chickened out!! I will create a library on D drive.
Can I just ask the quickest way to move the files ie can I drag them?

Certainly. Try one file first. Make sure you are happy. Then move the rest (control-a to select all).

you can also right click on the pictures folder in the libraries page ,select properties in the window that opens click include folder then browse to your new location on D:
your pictures will show when you select the pictures folder in the library
