Taskbar previews tweak question

I like the feature where if I hover over a thumbnail, it will show just that window and hide all the other windows, so I can pop over to another window to check something and then resume working in my current window.

But the problem I have at the moment is that I have to move the cursor to the taskbar icon, and then move the mouse to the thumbnail. Anyone know of a way to let this work by just moving to the taskbar icon?

Hello Eli,

Sorry, but Aero Peek will only kick in when you move the mouse on the thumbnail preview.

Bummer, maybe someone will come out with a third party utility to fix this in the future.

now that really is lazy!

so you have to move the mouse an extra 10 pixels?

have you tried speech recognition?

You know, it would be awesome if alt+tab cycled through the taskbar previews instaead of thing in the middle of the screen.

There's a choice between Alt-Tab to switch between the two, or use this Aero Peek to see what's in the other window(s) and then mouseout to get back to my working window. I feel it would be quicker if I can just mouseover to the taskbar and have Aero Peek show itself, otherwise I'm dealing with the delay to show the preview (which I'm aware can be adjusted) and the second delay to activate Aero Peek. But I'll live with it.

That's a good option, but I think it'll depend on how you want to set it up. Alt-Tab usually puts the more recent programs that have been accessed at the beginning, so you can Alt-Tab there more quickly. If we wanted it to scroll through the taskbar, it'll have to be implemented differently, since it has to scroll through each taskbar button.
