    What happens if I buy Premium, but am running Ultimate


    Hi, I am currently running the RC of 7, which I reckon by default is Ultimate, right?
    I wasn't planning on spending as much as the price for Ultimate when it's released, I only want to buy Home Premium. So what will happen if I try to use the registration key I ge with tha with the RC I'm running now?

    Will I have to completely re-install again? Or would some features be disabled?

    Yes, the default installed version of the RC is Ultimate.

    Your purchased key will only work with the RTM (final) version of Home Premium. So you will have to reinstall the correct version of W7, in this case, Home Premium, to activate with your purchased key.
