help is this a hardware problem?

    It's very rare for the CD drive to not show up in boot order. Enter BIOS setup at reboot and see if it detects the CD drive, then look under the boot order there to see if you can set it to boot first before HD. This is a different place than the one-time BIOS Boot Menu key: How to Boot your Computer from a Bootable CD or DVD

    Hah I'm such an idiot I see at the very end cddvd on one of the I numbers. I tried a light scan now, it says sector repair failure. It has failed an important diagnostics test, and concludes with repair was unsuccessful.

    You can try the repair again to see if it will complete, but if not it looks like you need a new HD.

    I restarted it almost an hour ago, it won't show me a percent progress just says testing. The first one gave me an error in less than a minute. Hopeful..Very thankful for everyone's help, I have learned a lot.
