My screen appears stretched out and stuck on one resolution

Hi there, I am new here and am having some issues.
I have the latest updates for my video driver which is nvidia geforce 6150se nforce 430 and my monitor is a generic PnP monitor a 19 inch Sansui.
As the title says it's stuck on the same resolution can't change it at all and the screen seems stretched width wise. It only happened when I updated to windows 7 ultimate edition. Any assitance is greatly appreciated.

I fixed it but it was odd I re downloaded my drives a second time and it wouldn't let me go higher but it let me go lower which it wouldn't do before so I tried going higher and it worked. Hope this somehow helps people who get this issue.
