| | Trying to use built in Administrator to replace ordinary Admin PW Helping with a computer used by several residents of a retirement community. Machine has PW protected Admin and nonpassword protected user accounts. Win 7 Home Premium, V.6.1.76001; more system details after I go back tomorrow. Here's what i've done: 1)Booted into safe mode with advanced boot options 2)Selected safe mode with Command Prompt 3)System 32 drivers launched. 4) Low resolution Windows 7 Log In appeared 5) Clicked on Administrator, needed a password to procede. 6) Rebooted, clicked on User 7) tried regedit, HKEY_LOCALE_MACHINE , LOAD HIVE, could not find the OS in the dropdown and was a bit out of my depth. Skill level - OK with "Missing Manual" in XP, limited in Win 7. Thanks, Ellen |
