Consolidate Shortcut Folders/File Folders in Open Dialogue

I was wondering if there's a way to sort file folders and shortcut folders so they are listed together, as in previous OS versions. I find it frustrating that 7 has forced the shortcuts to be split up into their own category rather than their file properties. I prefer to sort my folders by type, but doing so separates my shortcuts and I spend extra time looking for them. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the response, however I may not have been clear in my question. In previous OS's, if a folder was a shortcut, it would be categorized as File Folder. In Windows 7, shortcuts are categorized as Shortcut. It used to be that all folders and folder shortcuts were sorted into the same category, making it easy to navigate. Now, my shortcuts are mixed amongst files. Not having all folders in the same places just slows down productivity. This is mostly aggravating in open/save dialogues, but also occurs in Windows Explorer.

Does anyone have any tweaks or workarounds for this irritation? :D
