First impressions are good, the only problem I'm having so far is trying to get sound manager to work and also I can't seem to remove the watermark. Don't like the sidebar or lack of either, the gadgets don't seem to stay where you position them and I notice they haven't included dream scene so no animated wallpapers oh well.

If anyone knows of some other way to remove the watermark please let me know, thanks!

I feel that I have explored 7 as much as I felt able. I was so intrigued by articles outlining improvements, that I decided to give it another go.I'm in a dilemma regarding my own results. I sem to be having vastly different experiences and impressions to the majority
It has to be compared on the same equipment as you have previously run Vista, otherwise it is no contest.
I,ve have read rsome truly remarkable reports concerning the performance of 7.
I have Vista and 7 running side by side on two identical machines. Both Os's have been configured , in the early stage, exactly the same way.
Sata drives, 3.2 pentiums and 32 speed dvd drives (The latter are important if you are discussing the install time. My own results misytify me, when I read of users installing in 15 minutes etc.
These were my own figures, run twice.
Install time Vista 32 minutes. 7 27 minutes. That is up to the usable desktop stage, when the mouse cursor has settled down.
Start up from cold. Vista 85 seconds 7 about 70 seconds (Msconfig almost totally stripped of startup progs)
Opening Corel PSP (A really slow starter!)
    Vista 10 secs. 7 8 seconds
Full Adobe. - A really slow program!
    Vista 4 secs. 7 4secs.
    MS word 2007.
    Vista 10 secs. 7 10 secs.
    Shutdown.
    Vista 10 secs. 7 also 10 secs.
Obviously the majority, assuming they are not wild or vague claims, are getting better results than me. But I'll hang around optimistically for a Beta version.
One thing had improved, oddly. The install times for programs were almost halved.
P.S. I cannot get on with the new Control Panel!
