    How do I split application windows to top and bottom half easily?


    Hello,

    Based on the Windows 7 feature where you can press Windows Logo + Right (or left) Arrow key to maximize an application window to the right (or left) half of the screen, is there a way to maximise windows to either the top or bottom half of the screen?

    I know that stacking windows is one option, but that only works to the top quarter of a screen, and affects all other open windows, so that's no good unfortunately.

    The main app I want to use this with is putty so that I can see the full width of commands when using SSH for example.

    Good job using ssh. Much more secure.

    Not sure about maximizing on screen using just Win 7. What about a third-party app that will keep your window on top?

    Ah, that's where you're wrong the 'Show windows stacked' menu item stacks only the windows that are not minimised. Minimise all your windows (Win+M), open the two you need stacked, then right-click the taskbar > Show windows stacked. You should now have just those two windows on top of each other.
