I had a similar problem, but with pdfs not mp3s. And the guys here helped me.
I remember it was quite a bit fiddling about, but I got there in the end.

I truly have no idea in helping you out but.
- Does it work to other drives
- does it work if you try searching it using wildcard? like *.mp3 or B*.mp3 or *.*

I know this is an old post, but did you ever figure this out? I have run into the same problem. I have a theory, and i'm wondering if your situation is the same.
I noticed that when I browse in Windows Explorer, I can see the B: drive (in my case, my music is stored there), and ultimately i see b:\My Music
However, when I view the properties of that folder, it says the location is B:\Music
So I'm wondering if there's a symbolic link somewhere between My Music and Music, and it's throwing off the Search.
I just removed "My Music" from my index, went directly to the folder in Windows Explorer and searched again and lo and behold, I get results. so now i've added the folder back to the index (when Windows Search prompted me that I needed to), and but the moment I do, I cannot search the folder any longer. i'll keep tinkering and maybe figure it out. if i do, i'll post back the results.

Windows does not index A: or B: drives since they are historically reserved for floppy drives.
