Windows 7 - All Windows default tasks showing up empty

All Windows default tasks showing up empty

I have a HP Envy 17 3D laptop. This laptop has been nothing but trouble. It seems to freeze whenever I am doing heavy network activity over wifi. When it freezes, there is no option but to power off and restart. This has been going for for months now with no apparent side effects.

Yesterday, I was creating a scheduled task and everything was working fine. Then the laptop froze and I power cycled it. Today, I noticed that my task did not run. When I opened up task scheduler, I noticed that all tasks under Task Scheduler Library->Microsoft->Windows are showing up in the left pane but when I select any of these tasks, the left pane display is empty. Yesterday, most of these tasks were showing the task name, status, triggers, last run time etc.

I am assuming that somehow the power cycling without proper shutdown has caused the corruption. I did run sfc /scannow and it did not report any error. Since the tasks are created by Windows, they must be somehow important for Windows to work right. Question is how do I get them back?

Thanks...
