Run Malwarebytes and see if it finds anything.
You could also try an SFC SCAN | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64 CPU Intel Core i5 2500k at 3.3 GhZ Memory 2x4GB DDR3 1333Hz Graphics Card Ati Radeon 6770 Sound Card Speakers Monitor(s) Displays 1x 15" HD 572 Screen Resolution 1024x768 Keyboard Wired Keyboard Mouse Wired Mouse PSU 500W Cooling 3x Fans Hard Drives 2x500GB Internet Speed 10MB/s Other Info Netbook: Dell Inspiron Mini |

Try doing an SFC SCAN still but you could also try downloading MSE and scanning. | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64 CPU Intel Core i5 2500k at 3.3 GhZ Memory 2x4GB DDR3 1333Hz Graphics Card Ati Radeon 6770 Sound Card Speakers Monitor(s) Displays 1x 15" HD 572 Screen Resolution 1024x768 Keyboard Wired Keyboard Mouse Wired Mouse PSU 500W Cooling 3x Fans Hard Drives 2x500GB Internet Speed 10MB/s Other Info Netbook: Dell Inspiron Mini |

I can't have MSE on this PC, I run Norton Internet Security. That SFC Scan looks kinda scary. | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit. |

The SFC Scan is 100% safe, it will just fix all corrupted System Files. | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64 CPU Intel Core i5 2500k at 3.3 GhZ Memory 2x4GB DDR3 1333Hz Graphics Card Ati Radeon 6770 Sound Card Speakers Monitor(s) Displays 1x 15" HD 572 Screen Resolution 1024x768 Keyboard Wired Keyboard Mouse Wired Mouse PSU 500W Cooling 3x Fans Hard Drives 2x500GB Internet Speed 10MB/s Other Info Netbook: Dell Inspiron Mini |

These programs got installed with some other program and you did not uncheck them during the installation (it is not always obvious). If you do not want them, just uninstall them. On your desktop it is just shortcuts. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number HP, Dell, Gateway, Toshiba - 4 laptops and 2 desktops OS Vista, Windows7, Mint Mate, Zorin, Windows 8 CPU from 1.6GHz Duo to i7 Monitor(s) Displays 2x HP w2207 Keyboard with trackball - no mices Mouse Trackball mice Hard Drives 5x HDD, 7x SSD, 12x Externals Internet Speed DSL 6000 |

running the SFC now. As I said earlier, they just appeared out of nowhere. They had been installed long ago.
I also noticed the LIVE UPDATE icon in my start menu was now broken. Curious. | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit. |

If they had been installed already, the icons could have come with an automatic update. E.g. Norton is notorious for that, but also other programs. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number HP, Dell, Gateway, Toshiba - 4 laptops and 2 desktops OS Vista, Windows7, Mint Mate, Zorin, Windows 8 CPU from 1.6GHz Duo to i7 Monitor(s) Displays 2x HP w2207 Keyboard with trackball - no mices Mouse Trackball mice Hard Drives 5x HDD, 7x SSD, 12x Externals Internet Speed DSL 6000 Icon appears on desktop out of nowhere problems?
