No KMS (yet), How else to Activate?

    Our company has volume licensing.
I've downloaded and installed Win 7 Ent.

Is there any other way I can activate?
Since I think we don't have KMS yet.

When I try to activate it informs a KMS could not be contacted.

Your business would have to have a multiple activation key (MAK). You can use that to activate business copies of Windows.

Thanks! I don't see a Win 7 key in our MVLS page. I still have 27 days to activate. We're Software Assurance, so I hope/assume that means we'll get a key, I'm surprised I don't see one yet. Otherwise, it's a wipe and reinstall back to Vista. Darn, I should have used Win 7 RC, even though we're informed not to use in production, at least that last a year.

Actually, you have an additional 90 days after your initial 30 days are up. You simply have to rearm the activation every 30 days (good for a total of 120 days). You can find how to do that by googling windows rearm

I find part of the Tutorial rather (????) that was linked too.

    1. slmgr.vbs -dlv ( yes, agree tells you how many rearms you have left.)
    2. next step should be:
2a. slmgr.vbs -rearm (that resets the days back to 30 )
    3. 2a would leave you with 2 Rearms. so that means another 60 days or a total of 90 days rearm and 30 days original trial.)

the tutorial ( is also know as how to illegally reset the rearms feature.)
and if they mis read and change via the regedit ... they can loose all the approve rearms.)

I thought Enterprise was FREE for ninety days so you don't have to rearm anything.

I think your refering to the newest RELEASE than MS offered via the Technet.ms site.
like Windows 7 RTM the newest has a 90 day limit... Also if you check the REARM has been removed.... just like they did with Vista.

I thought Enterprise was FREE for ninety days so you don't have to rearm anything.
The Rearm ability has been removed.

There is nothing illegal in that tutorial. Microsoft has documented the re-arm feature and it is available in technet's public archives. Brink decided to document it here so people could find it easier. The step in regedit was just to make sure an activator of some time didn't set the skip rearm to true...If you have any geniune concerns than direct them to Brink

I assure you that Brink wouldn't stake his MVP or rep as one of the best IT Professionals out there on an illegal article that will damage the user's computer
