Your Computer is Running on Battery Power

When trying to install my Windows 7 Service Pack1 updates I keep getting this message "Your Computer is Running on Battery Power". I get the message even when the computer is plugged in. What could be causing this?

This seems to be a battery problem. Some computers will run only if the battery is in good shape, and do not run at all with the battery removed.

Your's is a minor annoyance that can usually be solved by getting a new battery. Depending on you how use the computer it is safe to assume that a battery is past it's service life after 6 months to 1 year. If that is so then please get a new battery.

it cannot be a problem with a dead battery. because if you want, you can run your laptop even without a battery if you've plugged in your power adapter. i think it's maybe a problem with the OS. try restoring to a latest restore point. pardon me if i'm wrong. but i think it will help you somehow.
P.S. Backup your data before restore your system.

If you're installing SP1, did you just recently re-format? If so, have you re-installed all of the necessary drivers for the system?

Yes, I had it re-installed for me. How can I find out if these drivers have been installed? How do I install them if they have not?

You can check in your Device Manager to see if you have any yellow exclamation points. If so, show us a screenshot of it.
