Important Files are Transparent and will not transfer vis USB
Pssst. Forgive me this is my first post on here and I hope its in the right location.
Anyway. I have a Toshiba Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit laptop.
It started malfunctioning really badly, to the point where we pretty much lost a lot of programs and such. It was the work of a very impolite virus.
We managed to get rid of it, I think, but now, every single important file of ours is transparent. Pictures files we're able to double click on and see, but we can't scroll through. At first I just thought the computer was being sketchy. When you bring your mouse over the file that has all our important stuff, it says "Folder is Empty"
So I decided to transfer all via a USB port, to move them from my sister's Toshiba to mine. Everything moved like normal, we had to wait a few minutes because there was a lot of file transfer.
But when I plug in the USB port into the other computer, it says my USB port is empty. It says nothing is there. I am extremely confused and I would like any suggestions any at all. I tried doing a document restore thing from the command prompt but was bombarded with "Access Denied" a few times.
I'm very young though, just a teenager, so I'm not a real expert. But any kind of help about making my files normal again so we can save them would be most appreciated. We don't really care about the well-being of the Toshiba at this point. We just want to save all our files. Thank you!
