Only One User has Black Screen

    Hello all,

Weird one. I have a Win7 64bit computer with 3 users: myself, my wife, and my son. When myself or my son are logged in and the monitor goes black (power save) all one has to do is type on the keyboard or move the mouse to get the login screen. However, when my wife is logged in and the monitor goes black (power save)..moving the mouse or pressing on the keyboard has zero effect. She has to press CTRL-ALT-DEL for the screen to "wake up" and give her the login screen.

Any ideas on how to get hers to function like my own?

    Thanks,
    Dan

Hello Prenger, and Welcome to Sevenforums!

Perhaps the easiest thing to do would be to save all her files on a USB drive or in the public folders, and delete/create a new user for her. Hopefully that would solve it.

    New Profile

Thank you for the reply. It would be easy enough as every computer in the house saves to a NAS and not locally. I was kind of hoping it was some weird sleep setting that I overlooked. I will try the profile delete tonight.

    Thanks again.

    Prenger,

you might be interested in this tutorial to change power options, but I don't think it will have an effect on your lady's profile: Power Plan Settings - Change (written by Brink).

Just a thought. While using the wife's log in, set the power option you want for your mouse and keyboard, reboot and see if that option is now working.
