Windows 7: Classpnp problem on Win 7 64bit, even after fresh OS installation.

Ok, downloaded and installed Win 7 successfully using the official ISO file provided in the link above. Was able to install drivers and then when I rebooted it took approx 5 mins to get to the OS selection window, I chose Win 7 and it loads but is taking a long time to load. It gets to the desktop (blank) with just a cursor arrow. It sits there like that for around 3 minutes and then automatically starts startup repair. It then completed startup repair and I eventually get in. I have check the Event Viewer under System and I notice 2 common errors:

Error NTFS 55
Error Disk 7

Could this be a HDD fault? I shall rund chkdsk /f and report back, unless someone can help further?

I've loaded Win 7 again using the official ISO above. It is running very slowly. I have checked event viewer and have the following errors:

NTFS 55
DISK 7

I will run chkdsk /f now and report back, but if anyone has any further information it would be appreciated

It seems to be hanging at 40% on check 5 of 5 of diskchk. It has been at 40% for a good hour now.....

I think we found the problem, then. It must be that this disk error is on a part of the disk that is only being read/used by your second partition (Win7). If disk check can't complete, I'd recommend immediately backing up all of your important files and picking up another hard drive asap. If it's within the warranty period for the manufacturer, you should contact them to get an RMA for the drive so you can get a working drive in return.

My thoughts too. I shall replace the HDD and see what happens. I shall Mark as Solved once replacement complete if all goes well. Many thanks....
