Access Denied when saving Dreamweaver CS3 files locally

I've only been using Win 7 for a week and this particular issue is already making me lose the will to live.

Having copied the entire website from a machine running XP Pro - where the site was in the root directory ie C:\name_of_website into the root directory of Win 7 and have now run into problems with permissions etc.

When I checked properties on the newly formed C:\name_of_website in Win 7 I saw it had been assigned a read-only status. I unticked that item, applied and saved, but it reverts back to the read-only status. Is this some security aspect that is assigned to any folders in the root directory?

I have also checked that I am the sole administrator with full access rights and am wondering whether I will have to create a new website folder other than C: - but where? There seems to be several choices:

    Libraries/create new folder
    Libraries/Documents
    User name/My Documents
    User name/create new folder

Any advice offered will be gratefully received.

    Thanks.

    Try this: Take Ownership Shortcut

Then right click on C:\name_of_website and select Take Ownership.

Thank you for taking the trouble to post that particular link. In the first instance the right-clicking on the folder and selecting Take Ownership didn't immediately solve the problem, but amending the permissions did.

Phew - it's been a nightmare of a learning curve.

Bill Gates has got a lot to answer for!!! LOL!!
