Welcome to Seven Forums Tom. I must laugh as I planned to make Seven like XP when I first got it. But I soon found I like Seven better in almost every way. And in the things I liked XP more, I soon found a way to use Seven's method. In other words, I let Seven be Seven

Tom, as Golden and A Guy have mentioned, Win7 is a very solid OS and with a little time you will come to enjoy it as we do.
A lot of us here have used most of the Windows OSs, and found it best to let the newer versions show there improvements.
We all do some customizing, but we have seen some go too far and then blame the OS for not being able to function with all the tweaks.
Just keep that in mind and enjoy Win7.

Thanks for the warm welcome, and hello from a not-so-sunny Kent in UK. I've spent about an hour on the Forum and have quickly solved Windows7 peculiarities that have stumped and annoyed this XP user for quite a while! Windows Viewer, diskspace information,themes, and more. So I thought I should properly register to say... Thanks Guys!
Welcome stingemat, I too had to join this forum and give a big Thank You to all contributing members after following various Tutorials and advice as a lurker. I now seem 10 times smarter than I really am in real life.
