    Help Bootmgr is Compressed...Tried everything

    Hello,

Compressed C: and my battery on my laptop died while this was compressing. Turned laptop back on Got the error:

    Bootmgr is compressed...

The problem I'm having is that there is no option to boot from CD Drive. My CD drive is listed in my BIO's but when I go to boot options only my HDD is listed. \

    Please advise

Hi, welcome to Seven Forums :)

Do you have a copy of Windows 7?
Do you have a spare USB stick? (If the dvd drive doesn't work)

there's no option under boot manager to boot to disc. Under my bios it recognizes the Disk drive.. but it won't allow me to boot from disc. Only option when I hit F9(boot options) is to boot from HDD.

    "...#10008- Replace Hard disk"

Yes, plug it into another pc and use crystal disk to see its health and find something like a bad sector. It is no guarantee but it may help.

Are you sure usb doesn't work? Have u tried looking for your usb under hdd as that is how some computers read it.

I gather your PC is unbootable.
Then I suggest you download Partition Wizard (free) bootable CD and run
    file system check
    Surface scan
Partition Wizard Bootable CD allows user to boot computer directly to manage partition.
The tool will enable you to reformat your HDD if needed.
It looks like you will need to reimage if you have an image, do a factory recovery or a clean install.
Plug your laptop in to the power when doing any significant Disk operation.

100% sure about usb. I can go into bios and change order of boot.

But it only boots from HDD. I can here the disc spinning. But when I hit f9 to boot manager only the HDD is listed. Not the USB or CD rom. Weird.
