Windows 7: Create Columns

It appears to be unsupported. Most projects totally replace explorer to get it done. And then there is the post on 15 Jan 2012 at the bottom of this thread that talks of W8 being different from Vista and W7 in this respect.

Here is the way MS wants it done now:
IColumnProvider interface
Basically, all custom info is now in the properties window for a file (but not for a folder) so I don't know how the MS VM tools did what they did unless they use a slightly different explorer.exe and DLLs.

Sorry, I don't know how to write DLLS or even how to make use of the one that you mentioned. Perhaps someone else will stop by your thread and help you out with that.

Size all columns to fit
Does anyone know how to keep this set for all windows. I have to keep setting this every time I go into a different window. In XP there used to be an option in Tools>Folder options to apply to all folders? I cant seem to find that. Cheers!

I was wondering if there's a way to make that the automatic default. I'm really getting tired of having resize the colums every time I open a directory.
