    Hello

I have a new Windows 7 installation on new hard drive. Since this morning, when i right click on "My Computer", I receive a message: Translation from French: "Windows Explorer encounter a problem and will close" Windows is searching for a solution

Anything I can do to resolve that problem

    Dear Martin,
Have you accessed the net after installation? What AV have you on-board? Kindly use the registry hack provided in this article to solve the problem:How to fix “Windows Explorer has stopped working” in Windows 7 | Web Talk

    Hello Sreedhav

I did check the procedure, but the mention key :Machine Trottling, does not exist.

So I have a similar problem than the one described in the solution, but not the same I suppose since this register key is not there.

    Thanks again

    Dear Martin,
Though there are many causes of Win.Explorer not functioning, in your situation, i wish to eliminate Virus infection as the primary cause!

Though there are many free on-line virus scanners, in my experience i have found Trend Micro's HOUSECALL to be very good at detection and removal. Please download the above from here and run the scan: HouseCall - Free Online Virus Scan - Trend Micro USA

    Kindly post the results.
    regards,
    sreedhav

PS: Qu'est-ce que vous avez antivirus installé sur votre ordinateur? (Excuse my grammar)

    Dear Martin,
Next, i want you to check the system files for integrity. You can proceed thus:
Click Start - All Programs-Accessories- Run
    IN- Run - type - sfc /scannow
Don't forget the space between c and /

    regards,

    Dear Martin,
You are firewalling my request for you to run HOUSECALL (please see previous posts). Kindly run it,as virii can be an important cause. If you do not find any virii, then run MBAM (after updating) :
Malwarebytes : Malwarebytes Anti-Malware PRO removes malware including viruses, spyware, worms and trojans, plus it protects your computer

    I,once again ask you"
Qu'est-ce que vous avez antivirus installé sur votre ordinateur"
    ? (Excuse my grammar)
PS: Loosely translated to mean "what AV have you installed"?

    regards,
    sree
