Difference between W7 Home premium & Ultimate 64 bit.

    Hello there,

I'm really new to the whole computer stuff, I was wondering what's the difference between those too? Also which one's better? Cause I currently have the W7 Ultimate 64 bit disk. But I currently have W7 home premium installed.

    Which ones better?

    Thanks!

    Hello Dawn,

It's really not a matter of which one is better, but instead which one has the features that you need or want included in it or not. Saying that, Ultimate has all features included where Home Premium doesn't. The link below can help you compare what features are included in each of these editions to help you decide which one is better for you. :)

    Compare Windows 7 Editions

    Hope this helps,
    Shawn

If I want to install It, Will I have to just insert the disk? And wait for an installation yo popup?

Microsoft puts up a chart that's easy to find and use:

    Compare Windows - Microsoft Windows

There is no better version. It's what version fits your needs. If there's no additional benefit to you to run Ultimate, don't bother.

Do you actually need Ultimate? But yes...you just install it like you would any other Windows OS...

If you are getting a retail copy of Windows 7, then you could boot from the installation disc to install it. The tutorial below can help give you a detailed step by step on this to give a feel on how to.

It`s not complicated at all, my advice to you is do a lot of research b4 you even attempt anything with your pc. So many people are coming here and say I did this or I did that and now my pc won`t start. If it`s running fine then don`t mess with it, just use it. There is excellent help here and many tutorials on how to do different things. I am a tech and I still learn new things everyday.
