Folder view - list (file names cut off)

Anyone else have this problem with long file names?
When using the folder view of list, it cuts off the file name past a certain point. I've looked around and can't find a setting that allows me to modify this setting.

In Vista and previous versions of Windows after switching to list view you could just hit refresh and the cut off file names would appear and the invisible list columns would maximize accordingly.

Just wanted to see if there was any way to resolve this before submitting it to MS.

Maybe its because your viewing it in libraries? See if it acts the way you want it to in a normal folder.

same here, it's really annoying. you have to keep the mouse on a file to view its full name.

i hope there's a way to show the full filename

You did select Detail mode from the menu bar - View, to set up the column sizes?
That is the menu bar from: Organise - layout , and tick "menu bar"

P.S. Maybe another one for the Tutorials if it is not already in there?

The issue here is to display the full length title in the list view mode, not in details view mode. In vista/xp you can have the full length title in list view mode.

so you were suggesting that switch to details view, fit the column, and switch back to list view? Mine didn't work. I did tried select from organise-layout-menu bar.

I use both type of view frequently. List view is very usefull for me to display huge list of items without scrolling all the way down.

Exactly. The bug here is not being able to view long file names in list view. Oh well I sent some feedback to MS maybe they'll fix it heh.

*I* understood what you meant - hence my testing and realizing that you were right.

I use details view almost exclusively, so I had not noticed this before....

Good deal. The more people that send this in the more (hopefully) that we'll be able to fix it.

What would be even better would be auto-sizing columns....

Hey guys. Any ideas how to fix this yet?? This is by far the most annoying issue for me.. Maybe the Brink himself can look into that ^^ ? I tried tweaking the registry, but miserably failed doing so. Any help would be much appreciated.
