Windows 7: Can't Empty Recycle Bin Or Open It! What Do I Do? [Windows 7]

Okay, finally got it to work. There it is.

It's weird, for about two, three hours, everything was working decent. I can empty the recycle bin, watch videos, listen to music, and all but one of my external HDD's wouldn't show up when I plugged it in. But, then I moved some stuff onto the external HDD's, then everything started to freeze, and forced me to restart each program, but they wouldn't restart. Then everything started over, and I had to restart the computer. Now two of the external HDD's don't work when I plug them in.

I've had to deal with a lot of annoying problems, but this is really weird, and completely out of the blue.

Good news is you have a recovery partition, it`s that 7.9 GB partition. Now you just have to figure out how to get the recovery process started on your machine. Usually the pc will tell you what key to push when it is first booting up. You may have to reboot a few times until you see it. Usually it will be down the bottom of the screen. But your not gonna attempt that until you get all of your data and what not off the computer. What exactly is the make and model of your pc ?

It will say something like F2=Recovery or Delete=Recovery

You do realize you have 177 GB of unallocated space there you could either add to C: or just use to create another partition and you will have that much more space.

Don't confuse him yet. Let's fix that drive first and then take that 177 to use ! But nice pointing out!

Yeah, I had a weird issue a few months back. I started my computer, and it wouldn't boot to Windows. It was stuck on that screen with the blinking white line. For two weeks, literally nobody gave me any useful info, then I decided to take a chance, and dual boot with Ubuntu, which everyone said was a dumb idea, and maybe it was, but once I did that, I was able to boot to Windows.

As far as the make and model, it is Sony Vaio VGN-FW560F

You found a solution to a known problem. That isn't a dumb idea. Linux can boot with no drive. Which caused the likelyhood of you cmd to to not boot. That my friend is intelligence.

From what I can find it looks like you tap the F10 key when the VAIO logo appears. This should start the recovery process. You will have to confirm that and then you have to do some serious thinking about what you want to do.

Did you install Ubuntu or did you just use a disc ?

It happens everyone gets stumped, and if they didn't well these forums wouldn't be needed.

Try that method, if not we will nuke it.

If I remember correctly, I downloaded it and burned it to a disc, and installed it. When I saw that I had 200GB left, I checked how to uninstall Ubuntu, so I can get those GB's back, but I must have done something wrong, because Ubuntu is gone, but I don't have the GB's back. Ive been putting off figuring out what went wrong, but I guess that's the 177 GB of unallocated space, which you brought up.

I'm gonna try this in the morning. Hopefully everything works out. I appreciate the both of you helping me out.
