Administrator turned to Guest Account After Change in netplwiz Setting

The computer (Notebook, Home Premium) had an option to press ctrl+alt+del to log in, and I wanted to change that, so I went to netplwiz and unclicked the option to require users to press ctrl+alt+del to log in.

I restarted and then I realized after Flash player tried to update that the computer is telling me to enter an administrator password but there is no place to enter the password. After that, I also realized that the only user on the computer who is supposed to be the administrator, is shown as a guest account.

While I was unclicking that option in netplwiz; I saw that the only user was defined as "boinc, administrator". I didn't much care about that at the time; could that boinc thing could be the reason for the only user being change to guest from administrator?

I had to restore the computer like 2 weeks ago because of that (It is not a main computer, so it is not being used that much).

How can I make sure that this 'guest' thing doesn't happen again when changing system settings?
Is the 'boinc' thing the reason for this? Could it be another thing?

Worst thing is that the fan started to make strange noise in the middle of the restore and I had to wait till the restore finishes. The restore finished and computer restarted, but the power went off right after the restart, most likely because of that fan thing making strange voices; I will check it tomorrow (It is night now and I do not have good lighting options where I am), I hope the computer is not fully dead.

I wrote the paragraph above just to tell that I wasn't able to log in to the computer after the finished restore operation because of that power problem.

Dear IMAyNeed,
As you already know, you have a hardware prob.(fan) to resolve! I would give that first priority.

Once that's set right, i request you to launch malwarebytesAntiMalware (full scan) download site:Malwarebytes : Malwarebytes Anti-Malware PRO removes malware including viruses, spyware, worms and trojans, plus it protects your computer

SAS portable Scanner from:SUPERAntiSpyware.com - SUPERAntiSpyware Portable Scanner

Run your AV.

Thanks to Brink, our Admin. this may help you take back control as admin. of your pc: Built-in Administrator Account - Enable or Disable

I have one or two tricks up my sleeve( which may work or not), to gain admin. rights, but we will get there if need be!

regards and best wishes,
sreedhav

PS: Clueless about boinc!!

You are right, I have to fix the fan first. I can't try doing anything before I fix it.

Your solution should be working after I fix the fan, but I already did the system restore (from F8, wouldn't let me do it in Windows).

Thanks for your reply.
