    Can you post a picture of your disk managment. It looks like your C partition is not primary but logical.

    windows 7 restored to factory, using acer e recovey management s/w

    hi members

    i have acer d257 netbook … containing os window starter … i have serious issues regarding viruses and booting . i used acer recovery management software in the menu – >all programs > acer folder

    after i select option to restore to factory date by deleting all files and software’s ie first option ….

    after reboot e recovery software started working ..restore process started later it displayed restore finished and rebooted again

    now instead of opening boot menu ,e recovey s/w is starting and restore process is starting again ie., like what it does first time …. this is repeating like this ….but not booting to windows 7 os …

    i have created previously a windows 7 recovery usb with iso file ….and i used this usb to boot . this time in boot menu with two entries are showing windows 7 and windows 7 recovery .. i entered to win 7 os …now all the software and drivers related to acer are installed safely … and rebooted ….then in removed usb … again the process of restore etc are appearing …instead of booting to os

    i can only enter to os using win 7 recovey usb only ….with out win 7 recovey usb i am no able to enter os ,only restore process is staring …

    in esay bcd i have the following entries

    There are a total of 3 entries listed in the bootloader.

    Default: Microsoft Windows 7
    Timeout: 30 seconds
    EasyBCD Boot Device: F:\

    Entry #1
    Name: Microsoft Windows 7
    BCD ID: {current}
    Drive: C:\
    Bootloader Path: \Windows\system32\winload.exe

    Entry #2
    Name: Windows 7 32-bit Recovery
    BCD ID: {301ed50c-6552-11e1-8fa4-e89a8f1756ed}
    Device: boot
    Bootloader Path: \NST\AutoNeoGrub0.mbr

    Entry #3
    Name: Linux Mint
    BCD ID: {546a1bc6-65c4-11e1-a8e1-9bdb9f546135}
    Device: unknown
    Bootloader Path: \linuxmint\winboot\wubildr.mbr

    i dont know why this linux mint entry is appearing ... even i deleted it

    so please help to change the default entry from usb to hard disk from the above entries it is clear that its booting from F: (my usb ) or any other solution u can ....:)

    regards

    Have you treid doing a clean install with the Acer Recovery disk?

       Information
    We always assume you have made your Recovery Disks using the OEM manufacturer's Recovery Media Creator app the first day you had your new PC.
    & made the Startup Repair CD.
    startup repair disc-create

    Did you make the OEM manufacturer's Recovery Disks?

    Also
    Have you tried pressing <Alt+F10> at boot up, to goto the Acer eRecovery Management.

    i used the e recovery management software from start menu , not from boot menu . after opening the software i selected the restore to factory with "deleting all programs and data" option later that it rebooted . and restore process is completed .. from the next reboot instead of showing boot menu ...its opening e recovery management software repeatedly ... it contuning like this ... as show in this video 04032012 - YouTube

    What exactly is this "recovery iso file downloaded from internet?"

    Is this Acer recovery disk(s) with the full factory image you are trying to reinstall booted DVD?

    Or is this a System Repair Disk ?

    Or is it a Win7 installation DVD you want to use to Clean Reinstall Windows 7 Factory OEM?

    If Factory Recovery will no longer run, then you can call Acer tech Support to have them send your Recovery Disks, or do the Clean Reinstall explained in blue link above.
