win 7 running on this! lol

I thought some of you might like to know I have win 7 running on a 5 year old Toshiba Equim EA60 laptop, with no upgrades.

    Basic spec:

    Intel celeron 2.93 ghz
    512mb RAM
    32bit op system
    40gb drive

    Windows rating 1.0

    made up of:
    processor - 3.6
    ram - 2.0
    graphics - 1.0
    gaming - 1.0
    primary drive - 3.9

I dont think that's bad going. It works pretty well, occasionally shuts down due to heat but it used to do that anyway.

It started as an experiment when my son needed one of my older laptops and I thought I would re-install windows and figured I might as well give it a try. that was over a month ago. All drivers and hardware have been found running properly and it even runs IE8.

I think you typo'd the processor speed, no?

2.93 Ghz sounds like it should be 1.93 for a celeron in a 5 year old laptop.

Just makes it even more impressively underpowered.

Google is your friend. Not a typo.

I have found a laptop from this series with the same RAM on CraigsList for $30. Going to pick it up today. And sell it for $65 next week. Shame on me.

    he he he

cool. says its the processor running. i was a little unsure so checked twice.

yep, 5 yr old laptops are cheap, and, although they dont work well with vista, this one works with win 7.

CraigsList is local, unlike eBay. I get to examine the goods. I made a bit over $10k last year from goods resold through CL.

    Intel Pentium IIIE - 900MHz
    L1Cache - 32KB
    L2Cache - 256KB
    Just upgraded to 512mb RAM
    20GB Hard drive
    Video - S3 Savage/IX 1014 with 36MB memory (BIOS dtd 8/24/2001)

Win 7 runs better than even a performance version of XP.
