Cannot Start System Resore

Okay I'll try that later thank you, but for now I have managed to get the next screen up, but the cursor is just a blue spinning loading circle, would it be best to wait and maybe if it loads I can start the repair?

Last bump just to see if there's anything else I can do.
It's now been on that blue spinning loading circle for 7 hours and no change,

I'll probably have to take it to a shop

It could also be a physical drive failure or memory issue. You can often go to your hard drive manufacturer's website and download a disk utility as a bootable .iso that you can burn to a cd and boot from to run hard disk diagnostics.

As for checking memory, download and burn this http://www.memtest.org/download/4.20...+-4.20.iso.zip to a CD. Boot from the CD and let it run through the tests 3 times. There should be no errors found.

However, if it is one of the above, it doesn't mean that the Win7 installation won't require a complete reinstall, which it sounds like it does.

Work through these steps for when Windows 7 fails to boot.

You may need to wait longer for the Repair CD to load. If not then in the last-resort steps to Clean Reinstall Windows 7 Factory OEM it provides a Win7 official installer with SP1 ISO download to burn to DVD or write to flash stick to also try the repairs, or Clean Reinstall as a last resort. I would try the flash stick as an alternative.

If these fail to boot, then reset the CMOS: Clear CMOS - 3 Ways to Clear the CMOS - Reset BIOS

Set HD first to boot and trigger the disk to boot using the one-time BIOS Boot Menu key given on first boot screen. Otherwise use this: How to Boot your Computer from a Bootable CD or DVD
