Cannot Start System Resore

Yesterday on my Advent Quantum Q200 Laptop I got a message while starting it up saying 'Windows failed to start A recent hardware or software change might be the cause'
I haven't done anything like downloading or anything, it was working fine the day before.
I've clicked everything and it just won't do anything.

From the 'Repair Computer' option it gives me a little menu, which again I've tried everything.

'Start Microsoft Windows Repair Enviroment' - Nothing happens for 5 mins then it freezes

'Reinstall Windows' - Brings me too 2 Restore options, the first one which Saves all my personal documents Also does nothing then Freezes, the second option which is removes Everything on the hard drive does this; It Brings me to a screen saying this process will take 30 mins to an hour to complete. It has 5 steps, I left
It on for 14 hours and it was still at step 1 looking like no progress had happened.

I've also Pressed F8 and clicked every option from there including all Safe mode options; Each one just restarts the laptop.

I have no disc with the laptop and I just want it working again

Any help would be Greatly appreciated, Thank you.

Also sorry for the long post

Welcome to Windows Seven Forums.

Assuming you have access to another computer, you need to create a system repair disc that you can use to boot into the Windows Recovery Environment, from where you can run a Startup Repair.

Another thing you should try in this situation.

Boot into Advanced Boot Options , and select Last Know Good Configuration (advanced) .

It recovers the boot problems due to any hardware or software changes most of the times.

Thank you for the reply, 2 questions, does it have to be a certain disc or can it be any blank disc? Also When I put this disc into the Laptop with the error, will it bring some sort of menu up allowing me to Completely restart it?

Thank you for the help.

Make it sure that the disk is created from a computer having same bit and version of windows. You can use any blank disk for it. Boot your computer from that disk and run (click ) Startup Repair .

Unfortunately I won't be able to create the disc until about 3pm as I can't get ahold of another laptop until then(posting from iPhone at the moment) but If it works then thank you so much. Great forum this is, usually don't get such a good response as quick as this.

OK, keep us posted and just follow the steps given in the tutorial to create your repair disc.

Although you can't use it to reinstall Windows, you can use it to access the advanced recovery options.
